This Sunday: Comparable to the Great Ocean: Vairocana

Sunday 2/19
9:00am Zazen
10:00am Chanting Service, Zazen, and Talk
Novice Koji Shin'ei

A great enlivening, vibrant peace, a mind gracious and bright, Vairocana: the open fresh impartial quality of mind that remains fluid in difficult moments. Not favoring pain or pleasure, not building a story around old memories, a mind that can see and permit what is new and possible. There is a great ocean dreaming. I speak to the influx of a bodhisattva imagination. A great conversation between all beings and not just the human beings. The Avatamsaka is a pure land, a realm you enter by being present, true to our original vow, our original face. Who are you: utterly. . . within and through?

Buddha Eye Temple IN PERSON

“When you wake up and you see that the Earth is not just the environment, the Earth is
us, you touch the nature of interbeing. And at that moment you can have real
communication with the Earth. That is the highest form of prayer. In that kind of
relationship, you will have the love, strength, and awakening you need to change your
life.”

Thich Nhat Hanh, from Zen and the Art of Saving the Planet

Please join us! We offer these meetings as a medicine for these times of environmental
and climate change that combines sitting practice with time for sharing our experience,
strength and hope. Also, please join our Ecodharma email list by scrolling to the bottom
of our Ecodharma NW website homepage and subscribing to “Follow Me.”

Ecodharma encompasses efforts by Sangha members and our larger community
to bring together their spiritual practice with learning and action on environmental
and climate change issues. All interested Sangha and community members are invited
to Breath by Breath and group meetings.
