North Korea Program: 630,000 Meals
Largest Food Shipment Ever

On August 20, the Han-Schneider International Children’s Foundation shipped out its largest food shipment in the history of the organization. In partnership with the Shanghai Rotary Club, HSICF sent more than 44,000 lbs. of rice and more than 7,700 lbs. of soybean to 2,200 hungry orphans in North Korea. With both organizations having love and compassion for the North Korean children and the desire to help those who need it most, the partnership between HSICF and the Shanghai Rotary Club was a natural fit. The shipment, which is expected to arrive to the orphanages by next week, will be able to sustain our children for approximately 5½ months and provide much-needed sustenance to aid in their continued physical and cognitive improvement.

This year we set an incredibly high goal for HSICF with Topple Hunger 2013 to serve one million meals. With this shipment, it brings our current total for the year to 880,000 meals. We are very close to realizing our goal but we still need your help. Please join us for our 5th Annual Benefit Dinner & Silent Auction on Friday, Oct. 18 (Hollywood, CA) and our first-ever Tough Mudder Team Race on Saturday, Nov. 9 (Temecula, CA). Your support and participation will help us reach our goal of serving one million meals to children in Cambodia, Tanzania and North Korea (details below):
5th Annual Benefit Dinner
& Silent Auction
"Spreading Joy through Compassion"

The 5th Annual Benefit Dinner & Silent Auction is right around the corner. This year we will highlight the joy of our children made possible by the love and compassion from our supporters. The event will feature keynote speaker, Steve Morrison, who is the founder of MPAK (Mission to Promote Adoption in Korea). Steve was abandoned by his family and orphaned in Korea. His heartfelt story is a real reflection of what orphans struggle with on a daily basis. His amazing journey of being adopted by a loving American family and eventually adopting children of his own is a true testament of spreading joy through compassion.

We hope you will join us in celebrating the happiness of our children and to hear about Steve's heroic journey.

Let's Reach Our Goal to Serve
1 Million Meals
Are You Tough Enough?

HSICF is building a team for the Tough Mudder race to raise awareness about malnutrition plaguing children around the world. The purpose of the race is to raise funds and reach our Topple Hunger 2013 goal of serving 1 million meals to our kids in North Korea, Cambodia and Tanzania. Tough Mudder is an endurance event 10-12 miles long in which participants attempt military-style obstacle courses designed by two British Special Forces. We are currently assembling a team to run the race on Saturday, Nov. 9, in Temecula, CA.

This is a great way for our friends and supporters who are into fitness and adventure to participate in a challenging, yet meaningful and fun event. We currently have 14 members and hope to continue expanding our team. Join us as we run on behalf of all the hungry and voiceless children around the world.
