Tanzania Update - Graduation Time!
Another year has passed which means another graduating class at our Meserani School in Tanzania. The graduating children at the Meserani School donned the caps and gowns while there parents and teachers watched on with pride. All the children in the graduating class demonstrated the ability to continue their primary education at another school. While we will miss these little faces, we know we have equipped them to thrive in their future endeavors.
The Han-Schneider Vocational School also saw graduates complete the necessary coursework to obtain their ceritifcate of completion. This year's sewing class originally had 12 students enrolled, however, due to various reasons only 5 made it through the entire course. Their final project was to design a dress and put on a fashion show.
The computer class also graduated 5 students this year after completing their course and passing a proficiency test. Both graduating classes have learned skills over the past year that will help them either start a small business or find a job to help them provide for their families.
The Han-Schneider Vocational School was built in 2015 to help teenagers and adults learn a valuable trade. With those skills, many graduates have started their own business or found gainful employment. When they are able to make a living wage, they are able to provide for their family and sustain themselves for a healthy future. This transition will lessen the dependency on government and non profit organizations thus giving themselves and their family a path to success.
