Latest from the Jubilee Debt Campaign

Dear friend,

It's been a busy time for Jubilee Debt Campaign!

Our new report -out now- shows that disasters linked to climate change leave affected countries more indebted than they were before the disaster hit. Our Director Sarah-Jayne Clifton said: “It is a moral outrage that those who are most affected by climate change are being made to take on debts because of the disasters that climate change is contributing to. This is on top of the high, unjust debts that many small states already have.”

Our appeal to raise funds for work on this has got off to a great start, but there is still a long way to go. For just the next few days all donations are doubled for free. We're over a third of the way to our target and still have around £15,000 of matched funding available to double donations. Please do consider supporting our work with a donation now.

Don't owe, shouldn't pay

We're joining campaigners in small states in calling for action to stop climate disasters leading to runaway debts that undermine the meeting of human rights, basic needs and the Sustainable Development Goals. Read our new report which looks at the particular impacts and vulnerabilities of small impoverished states in relation to both climate change and debt: Don't Owe, Shouldn't Pay.

Donate now and get your donation doubled!

Right now all online donations will be doubled! This is a massive opportunity to boost the struggle for debt justice. Huge thanks to everyone who has donated so far. We are aiming to raise over £50,000 in total by midday on Tuesday 4 December, and still have some way to go to meet our target. Please donate to support our campaign.
