About this talk

Mistakes do happen in the course of medical treatment. Problems range from incorrect diagnosis to errors in surgery. How does the law balance the interest between patients who may have suffered injuries and medical providers who may have tried their best? Join us for this online talk in which our speakers will explain the law of medical negligence and what is involved in pursuing and defending a medical negligence lawsuit.

Speakers

Jasmine Wong graduated with a Second Class Honours (Division I) in Bachelor of Laws from Aberystwyth University, Wales in 2015 and completed her Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) in 2016. She gained her legal experience as a paralegal for a year before commencing her pupillage in MahWengKwai & Associates under the guidance of its Managing Partner, Raymond Mah. 

Jasmine was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in October 2017. Upon admission to the Malaysian Bar, she began her practice in MahWengKwai & Associates as an Associate in 2017. 

Jasmine continues her practice with MahWengKwai & Associates in the areas of general litigation particularly in citizenship, adoption, medical negligence and employment law.

Wong Chee En graduated with a Second Class Honours (Division I) in Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from University of Leeds, Leeds, United Kingdom in 2017. He completed his Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) at BPP University, London and was called to the Bar of England and Wales (Middle Temple) in 2018.

Chee En commenced his pupillage in MahWengKwai & Associates under the guidance and tutelage of Mr Raymond Mah. Chee En was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2020. Upon admission to the Malaysian Bar, Chee En began his practice in MahWengKwai & Associates as an Associate in 2020.

Chee En’s area of practice include general litigation, construction, debt recovery, family law matters, criminal and personal injury matters.
