Doheny Update

January 2022

As 2021 comes to a close, we reflect on our accomplishments and challenges. We were thrilled to reopen the Visitor Center and look forward to expanding access this year.

We were also pleased to continue the outdoor Pop Up Shop, which allowed us to contribute a great deal of financial support to the Park.

Once again we are grateful for our many volunteers and looking forward to a fantastic year!

Native Plant Restoration

Camp Host Tim Koepnick planted this native Ironwood tree in their campsite. It was purchased by the Foundation from the Tree of Life Nursery. The Ironwood will bloom in the spring and summer, is a great host for pollinators and will provide food and shelter for many birds. Tim's wife Patti reports that the birds immediately flocked to it.

Pop Up Shop Resumes

The Doheny State Beach Pop Up Shop will resume its regular schedule beginning Sunday, January 2.

The Pop Up will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm, weather permitting, on the Doheny State Beach Boardwalk.

The Shop will also be open on Monday, January 17 from 10 am to 4 pm.

Visitor Center Hours

The Doheny State Beach Visitor Center will resume its regular hours on Sunday, January 2. The Center will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 1 pm.
