The second project within IBC Finland has started

The second project prepared within IBC Finland Protein feed from grass silage by biotechnical means has been funded by Tekes. The objective of the project is to pre-study the technical and economical feasibility of the production of protein feed from grass silage. Grass and especially grass silage (grass feed) composes an exciting alternative to wood-based raw material for biotechnical utilization. The project is led by Matti Harju, Vice president Technology, Valio. See here for more information on the project.


Collaboration news in Process Technologies of Bioeconomy

The Finnish Bioeconomy Cluster is preparing a new research program in the  field of “Process technologies of Bioeconomy”. The preparation is done in collaboration with IBC Finland. Program preparation is ongoing and the aim is to be ready by the end of 2013. If your company is interested in the topic, please don’t hesitate to contact Markku Leskelä or Solveig Sjöblom



IBC Finland will participate in the European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology

IBC will participate in EFIB, European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology from 30 September to 2 October. This year’s conference agenda brings together a host of high-profile policy keynote speakers, industry’s leading CEOs, finance and market analysts and visionary innovators in the field of bioeconomy and industrial biotechnology. During the event IBC will among others meet with European IB clusters to increase the sharing and combining of knowledge.


Biotech week - Telling the story of European biotechnology, Sep 30 - Oct 4

On The European Biotech Week, events across Europe will celebrate biotechnology, an innovative and vibrant sector launched by the 1953 discovery of the DNA molecule, sixty years ago. The first European Biotech Week will mark the 60th anniversary of this pivotal moment in history.
