Communities want to see change in days, not years. In this spirit, the New England Chapter of the Congress for the New Urbanism's DoTank is pleased to offer a technical assistance workshop program for organizations seeking to activate underperforming commercial districts and public spaces with a focus on tactical urbanisminterventions that can be employed in the near-term, with minimal resources, and as a catalyst to a better long-term planning and economic development strategy. 

Building on placemaking efforts in Boston, Somerville, Providence, New Haven that have led to high-returning investment and policy changes, CNU New England will deploy a customized panel of expert thinkers and doers to:
Facilitate a half-day workshop that identifies opportunities for intervention

Document a project report and action plan  

ise and assist with the implementation of recommendations in the plan 

CNU New England's expanding list of experts volunteering their time for this service have backgrounds in architecture, urban planning and design, real estate development, transportation engineering, governance, historic preservation, regulatory entitlements, retail strategy, tactical urbanism, and more.

CNU New England will provide workshops to up to six eligible organizations in 2015, including, but not limited to, Main Street Organizations, Business Improvement Districts that apply on or before January 23, 2015Contact us for more information, and please share with eligible organizations in your area.
