Collaboration in Missions

Collaboration in missions is key! We can do so much more for God's Kingdom in this world if we work together. Back in September 2018, SAM, TEAM, SEND, and Crossworld (four different mission organizations serving in different parts of the world) officially formed a new mission association called Therefore Alliance. The goal is to "see more effective strategies developed, leveraging the organizational strengths across our entities to continue to improve systems and visions between our like-minded gospel-centered initiatives." One aspect of this collaboration is that my role as the Creation Care Specialist has now expanded to serve all of the missionaries in the other agencies as well. I've started communicating with missionaries that are doing creation care in these other organizations along with those wondering how they can incorporate creation care into how they are already reaching the lost. I have already been invited to visit work in Bolivia and look forward to future partnerships. I hope and pray many more missionaries are encouraged to have someone who "understands" them and how their work on behalf of creation is intricately linked to gospel proclamation.

Conversations Aren't Isolated Events

Last week, I spoke with a TEAM coach in California about a young couple who is seriously considering joining TEAM to do linguistics and creation care work in Brazil.

The interesting thing is that I had met them at a Creation Care & Missions Conference in Pasadena, CA in April 2018. We had great conversations at the time, and I had introduced them via email to other missionaries serving in creation care. But this story goes back even further! On February 22nd, 2017, I gave a creation care seminar at Multnomah University, in Oregon, and a person who heard me speak told this young couple that they should look into TEAM. So a year later in another state they didn't even realize until AFTER the conference was over that I was the person they were supposed to connect with! Yet here we are now, full circle, and we can see how God worked out His purposes for good. We don't always get to see the end of the story in this earthly life, but we can trust Him with the details and praise Him for how He works through our obedience to answer His call.

Preaching at Our Home Church

In February, I was privileged to preach at our church, River Oaks Community Church, in Maryville, TN. Our church has been going through the Gospel of Matthew and I preached on "The Parable of the Talents", in Mt. 25:14-31. I always pray that God uses me to challenge and encourage believers in their walk with Him, and to point non-believers to Christ. We are so thankful for our church home that has become our family here in TN.

Family Prayer Request

In February, we were also able to visit some of my family in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. Late last year my mom was diagnosed with Early Onset Dementia/ Alzheimer's Disease. You are welcome to read more about it on my parent's Facebook page, here. The grief comes and goes for me. It has been hard not being geographically close to her but I am thankful for technology which allows us to communicate and see each other "virtually".  We would all appreciate your prayers for my mom and the entire Bacheller clan as she seeks treatment and we process this together as a family.

We appreciate each one of you who reads our updates, prays for us, and gives to make our ministry possible. Thank you.

For the Kingdom,
Ben, Becky, Caleb, Samuel, David, & Lilianna Bacheller

We celebrated David's birthday in February and Samuel and Ben's in March.
