Some of you already know this by now, but Lilliana had a serious accident while playing on our trampoline this past Monday. The injury she suffered was a result of doing a simple summersault that unfortunately landed her into one of her brothers. She dislocated her right hip, tearing her ligaments that held the femur in the socket. According to the doctor at the hospital, this injury is rare in children. The doctor was able to put the femur back into place, and with time, her ligaments will heal and can be strengthened with physical therapy. Our biggest concern is that some of the blood vessels that supply blood to her femur may have ruptured during the accident but we will not know if this is the case until later. Please pray for there to be no complications regarding this. It has been quite the roller coaster for our family the last few days, but God has been faithful, as always.
Lilianna will be in a spica (body) cast for the next 6 weeks to help promote healing of her hip joint. She has handled everything really well and just keeps smiling. As a family, we are doing our best to adjust and help Lilianna with the sudden lack of mobility. Our church family here has been a huge encouragement and practical help to us, for which we are so thankful! The Body of Christ is doing what it does best!
Thank you for your prayers. We certainly sense the Lord's presence during this trial because of your prayers on our behalf.
Ben, Becky, and the kids.
