Benvenuto, Ferrara!

Last week, I had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from Ferrara, Italy to Toledo.  Our most recent Sister City, Ferrara is a great place I had the opportunity to visit with my wife Sarah last year.

We kept the delegation very busy!  They spent several days visiting a number of Toledo cultural locations and make some important business connections, as well.  Most importantly, they were in Toledo to announce that the 2023 Italian Bowl will be played right here in Toledo, Ohio at the University of Toledo Glass Bowl on July 1.   Fresh off Solheim Cup and other major successful events, the Italian Bowl will be another opportunity for residents of Toledo to show off on the international stage. We look forward to being a part of the planning and will keep you posted right here on all developments.

The International Year of Glass is ongoing!  You can get updates on events and other opportunities to participate in the International Year of Glass on the Destination Toledo website.  Join in the fun!

Don't forget to join me tonight for the live version of Wednesdays with Wade.  Tune in live on my Facebook page at 4:30.  See you then.

Finally, a reminder that Monday, October 10 is a Federal holiday. All City of Toledo offices will be closed.

Have a great week, Toledo!

Join us next MONDAY!

We have embarked on a six-week plan to meet with residents throughout the community. You can stop by any one of the remaining meetings and hear about all of the projects happening at the Department of Public Utilities, Housing, and Community Development, Forward Toledo, and Engage Toledo.

The next meeting is Monday, October 17 from 5-6:30 p.m. at West Toledo Library.  We are taking one week off as the City of Toledo is closed on Monday, October 10.
