A Time To Be Thankful
Happy Wednesday, Toledo!
Last week, Kid Mayor and Kid Council gathered to learn all about the Toledo Police Department and the Toledo Fire Department. They were treated to a pizza dinner after they toured a SWAT vehicle, a firetruck, and a fire station, and met a K9 police dog, and a police drone. It was a really wonderful time with the Kid Mayor, Kid Council, and their families. As part of the year-long program, the kids have already learned about the water treatment plant, Engage Toledo, and Toledo Mud Hens. I look forward to hearing what policy ideas the kids have when they present to Toledo City Council in January.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and there is much for us all to be thankful for in 2022. As we continue to emerge from COVID and remember the times we could not gather, I'm especially thankful to spend time with family this weekend. I am also looking forward to a little time watching some rivalry football games this weekend!
On behalf of all of the employees of the City of Toledo, a safe, restful, and fun holiday weekend is my wish for you.
Please be reminded that the City of Toledo offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday. Engage Toledo is open 24/7 to address any concerns you may have in the meantime. You can reach them at 419-936-2020.
Have a great week, Toledo.
