In The Good News Department...
Hello Toledo and Happy Wednesday,
Hope you are having a great week.
Like so many of you, my wife Sarah and I have been preparing for back to school at our house. We took our daughter Emma to her first year of college. Our son Will returned for his junior year of High School. Our wish for you and your families is the same as my own: a safe, engaging, and rewarding school year for all.
A couple of feel-good news stories I wanted to highlight this week.
The first is the wonderful story of Toledo Firefighter Myles Copeland. You may recall I gave him a key to the City a few weeks ago for his bravery and heroism as he leaped into action to save the life of a man who suffered from a serious heart attack on the basketball court.
This week, On the Road with Steve Hartman, on CBS, shared a story of a reunion of the two men, the first since the incident.
In another great story about Toledo history, in honor of the International Year of Glass, The Toledo Blade did a piece about how the Glass Keys to the City are made.
Festivities for the International Year of Glass are ongoing. This week, you can head to the Franklin Park Mall and take advantage of a community glass art installation. I will be there, too!
Have a great week, Toledo!
