MAKERS: Women Who Make America PBS
A study on thirty-five women leaders by the Center for Creative Leadership, University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and Higher Education Resource Services (HERS) found that two thirds of the women studied responded that they were sabotaged or discouraged when seeking leadership positions. The article covering the study also reports that 26% of college presidents are women (2012). Other findings from the study include some of the women reporting loneliness in leadership, different thoughts expected of men and women, differing expectations of husbands for women in leadership, etc.  Mentorship was one thing that was highlighted as motivation for women to seek leadership and show others it is possible.

Task-minder/Organizer Needed
The eNetwork Coodinating Coucil wants to welcome a new board secretary to our group of leaders. By preparing our agenda and minutes--only every other month!--this leader keeps the crew on task. You can play this role remotely and from afar. You just need the ability to organize an agenda from an online list and post minutes to GoogleDocs. An interest in providing editing assistance to our web team is also welcomed--come learn a little about WordPress with us.

As a matter of fact, we bid a sad farewell to Professor Jackie McAllister, who has adeptly filled this position from Colorado, Chicago, Massachusetts, and Ohio as she made her way from dissertation to tenured position at Kenyon College over the past year. Have questions about stepping into this role? Contact  Heidi or Jackie.
