Volunteerism
Make a Mark on Your Community!
“The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.”   - President Barack Obama
Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community and make a mark while meeting new people and using your strengths to support others.  AAUW has over 170,000 members and supporters who are supporting the equality of women.  Resolve to get involved and use your skills to grow AAUW and yourself!

AAUW Colorado eNetwork Updates
We have multiple volunteer positions open. Check them out and contact us to get involved today!

 Programming Team Volunteer
Interested in planning and executing the eNetwork’s virtual programs?  The programming committee welcomes folks to join in our adventures.  There are many different tasks for volunteers so that you can be involved in a way that fits your busy life.  We are learning new things with every program - if you aren’t sure of how to do some of these things, come aboard - let’s try something new together. Here are some of the fun things we are up to…
  • Brainstorming exciting and meaningful programs to advance women’s equity
  • Marketing programs through Facebook, Twitter, and EventBrite tools
  • Facilitating webinars using AdobeConnect
  • Surveying participants to make sure programs are meeting members’ needs
You are invited to join our programming team for one program or the entire year’s plans.  Connect with Stormy to express interest, stormy.mcdonald@yahoo.com, and get ready to join the team via conference call (1-605-475-4000, 706647#) on Thursday, February 27th, 6:30-7:30 pm.

 Web Work Group

Anyone that's ever wondered how a website gets updated--or just what "Wordpress" even is!--may be interested to know that, in line with our virtual tradition, the eNetwork's website is maintained by a group of far-flung volunteers. There are news items to post, comments to moderate, information promoting women and girls, and links to social media sites and events that need updating. We collect these, share them among us, and gather monthly to work together, separately, on making the changes. Armed with this camaraderie, a dial-in conference number, and logging in to our website and other social media sites, we make edits, insert links, and gradually improve the site bit by bit. Whatever is accomplishsed within the hour is deemed a success, and on we go with our busy days. It's slow at first, poking and prodding the various buttons, but soon the repetitive tasks feel like second nature, and lo and behold, we've become experts at certain functions!

You're invited to join us to work on the Colorado eNetwork site! At just an hour a month, this is an opportunity to give back while learning a new skill. Commit to joining us once or twice, or for the whole year. Only minor web familiarity needed. Connect with Heidi to get set up, COeNetworkAAUW@gmail.com, and plan to join us via phone & internet on February 19 from 10-11AM.
