Together We'll Get Through This

In light of the current situation and due to the concerns around the spread of COVID-19, we want to update you on the measures we are taking in response to this unprecedented crisis.

At the moment, we are doing our best to balance between our mission to provide essential care for the pets in our community and keeping our team, clients and community safe.

This is a fast-changing situation, so please follow our blog and our social media for updated information.

As of March 18:

We are cutting back to segmented minimal staff in order to protect our team from exposure to COVID-19.

We are reducing our hours. We will be open Monday to Friday 10am-6pm, Saturday 10am-5pm. 

Because we will be functioning with these limited resources, our capacity will also be limited. We are prioritizing those pets that are unwell and in need of medical attention. We ask that you postpone routine annual visits and vaccines other than those where your pet is due for Rabies vaccination. If your pet is due for Rabies vaccination, we will, of course, do a full wellness check and any other due vaccines while they are here.

In order to minimize potential touch contact, we are no longer accepting cash as a form of payment until after the crisis. Credit and Debit are still being accepted.

In order to minimize exposure to our staff and maintain social distances for clients in the practice, we ask that only one person accompany your pet into the practice. Others will be asked to wait outside, so no children, please.


COVID-19 Precautions

If you are experiencing a cough, fever, or other flu-like symptoms, or if you have traveled abroad in the last 14 days, we ask that you not come into the hospital.

If your pet needs urgent veterinary care, please try and find a healthy family member or friend who can physically bring your pet to the practice, and we will examine your pet and communicate with you by telephone. Please let us know in advance so that we can take appropriate disinfection measures with your pet carrier and leash.

If you are unwell, and cannot find an alternate person to bring your pet in for care, please call us in advance so that we can try and accommodate you with appropriate infection control measures.

Please note that if you need pet food or other supplies, you can order online from our web store for home delivery. Note that food and product deliveries are taking longer than usual, so allow at least 5 business days for delivery.

Infection Prevention Protocols

We have always had extremely thorough disinfection protocols in place to prevent pets from passing disease to each other. In the face of COVID-19 we have dramatically increased the frequency of these practices.

We disinfect each room between patients

We wipe down all high-touch surfaces such as doors, tables, and handles frequently. 

We wipe down payment terminals between uses.

We have hand sanitizer available in the waiting room and all exam rooms. We ask that you use it on arrival and departure.

We have placed a table in front of our reception counter to ensure a good social distance between you and our staff when you're checking in and out.

We recognize the inconvenience of many of these changes, and we ask for your patience in these trying times as we seek the best possible way to care for your pet and keep our team safe.
