The American Academy of Veterinary Nutrition is a group of board certified veterinary nutritionists and practicing veterinarians that discuss nutritional issues, review research, and provide expert advice on nutrition for pets.
Spring is here, and so are the ticks.

Be Tick Aware!

With spring comes tick season. As soon as the temperature goes above three degrees celsius, ticks are awake and questing for a blood meal. We have already seen multiple attached ticks here at the hospital.
As well as being kind of disgusting, ticks can carry disease. Lyme disease is becoming much more common in Toronto and can infect both pets and people. Inspect your pets carefully when they come in from outdoors. Be aware that all tick prevention products are toxic to cats.
Our waiting room update is proceeding.
