About the LIAO:
London Intermediate Accordion Orchestra (LIAO) was formed in 2014. It has around 20 players and is the 'little brother' to the London Accordion Orchestra which has 40 players and performs all over Europe. LIAO performs original music for accordion orchestra as well as arrangements of pieces written for other instruments. Both orchestras have the goal of widening appreciation of this wonderful instrument and LIAO in particular encourages children to participate and experience the joy of playing music with other people.

They will preform the following programme at the reception:

Marchen Sinfonietta (II Aschenputtel, I Kalif Storch) by Rudolph Wurthner
Rondeau from Abdelazer by Purcell
'Querida' - Tango de Concierto by Graham Romani

About the exhibition:
Slovenian artist Petra Varl and London-based artist Daniel Devlin met on the Croatian island of Susak. Daniel started the SUSAK EXPO Biennale in 2006 and Petra has been part of it since 2010. For this exhibition they will be showing work they made for SUSAK EXPO 2016: Petra will exhibit Bathers, cutouts from painted metal, while Daniel will be showing documentation of his work URED / OFFICE.

Petra Varl is an artist who works mostly in the media of drawing and installations. Since 2000 she has been working as Associate Professor of drawing and graphic arts at the Fine Arts Department at the University of Maribor. She lives with her future husband in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Daniel Devlin is a publisher, curator and artist based in London. As well as organising SUSAK EXPO he is co-publisher of Spiralbound (a publisher of radical books that sit uncomfortably between the artist book and poetry publications) and the managing director of the gallery Sračok & Pöhlmann. As an artist, Devlin works mainly with wheel-barrows.
