Welcome to Term 1

After a long and relaxing Summer, it's time to smash Term 1!

Well that didn't take long to get through January and almost February! It feels like just yesterday we were opening our doors for the first time this year. There are already so many achievements, star performers, improvements and sessions under our belt.

We would also like to welcome all our new clients to The Leading Edge Family! It's so great to see so many people taking their health and fitness seriously this year and really making some fantastic changes to improve their quality of life. We look forward to working with you all and sharing the journey with you.

We just wanted to quickly touch base with you all to make sure you are aware of what we have on offer at The Leading Edge to help you kick off 2017 in the best way possible.

Our first 8 week challenge for 2017 kicked off last week and our next will start in Autumn. If you would like to get started before then on cleaning up your eating our Dietician/Nutritionist can design a personalised programme for you starting at any time to give you the jumpstart you need.  You’ll receive an easy to follow clean eating plan, unbelievable motivation and support from them and us in your sessions, and best of all RESULTS, you're going to love it!

It's often overlooked, but the way you think can be the most valuable tool to ensure you achieve anything you set your sights on.

What is your Mindset?

Much of the time our mindset and perception of a situation turns into our experience of that same situation. Take a moment to think about your mindset about changing the foods you eat, what you drink, and how you take care of yourself.

-Do you think it is going to be hard?
-Are you telling yourself, “There is no possible way I can give up X!”
-Are you already counting the days until you can “eat whatever you want?”
-Are you focused on what you “can’t” have?


-Are you excited about what you will learn about yourself during this time?
-Are you thinking about what new foods/recipes you can try?
-Are you focused on improved health and well being?
-Do you think about the abundance of whole, unprocessed foods you are choosing to eat?

The two different lists of questions are very different and it is likely if your self-talk and perception of the situation is the first list, the next period of time that you choose to implement changes are going to be really long and you might not fully experience all of the benefits of making a change. On the flip side what would happen if your self-talk and mental perception looked more like the second list?

The good news is we all have the ability to change/choose our self-talk and mental perceptions. Start to notice the things that you are telling yourself and if they are helping you move forward in achieving your health and fitness goals or hindering your progress. Choose positive self-talk and envision yourself as the healthy person you deserve to be.

Tasty Treat Idea!

Nix that 3pm slump with one of these delicious Bliss Balls!


455g medjool dates

¼ cup maple syrup

1 tsp vanilla

¼ up coconut

1 – 1.5 cups oats

Chop dates and place in saucepan with maple syrup.  Stir constantly for 10 mins until a paste forms.  Stir in vanilla, coconut and oats.  Allow to cool and roll into balls and coat in coconut and refrigerate. Enjoy!

Charity Fundraiser

All money raised will go to help orphans and disadvantaged youth in Cambodia with educational supplies and services, youth support, counselling and guidance along with sports training and equipment.  With many parents, like us, in our sessions this is something that we can all relate to - the importance of raising strong, healthy, resilient and well educated children.  Please join us on the day for a fabulous workout with healthy snacks available for purchase post session.  

Bring the whole family, everyone is welcome, including children
