Say Whaaat?!! Feta was invented by a Cyclops?
 
Feta is one of the world’s most ancient cheeses and is thought to be referenced in Homer’s Odyssey when, in Book 9, Odysseus discovers the cave of Cyclope Polyphemus: 

“…we entered the cave and gazed in wonder at all things there. The crates were laden with cheeses, and the pens were crowded with lambs and kids.”
 
While we doubt that it was actually invented by a one-eyed, man-eating giant, we’re absolutely certain Feta is one of the tastiest cheeses we know. A mainstay of the Mediterranean diet, versatile PDO Feta adds an unmistakable brackish tang to pastas, salads, and sandwiches.

Founded in 1950 in the village of Koufalia, near Thessaloniki, Mevgal is a third-generation, family owned and operated company, and is the largest dairy in northern Greece. Mevgal Feta is made from fresh, free-range sheep and goats’ milk sourced from local farms, and bears the P.D.O. seal that guarantees its authenticity. Produced according to traditional methods and conserved in brine, this Feta is stark white, with a clean, bright flavor and gentle saltiness.
