What People Are Saying About "Healing Beauty"

"Linda and Jacqueline, what a unique mom & daughter you are and what a unique convergence of two varied artful media--Linda's written personal reflections about beauty in her life and Jacqueline's paintings so vividly portraying beauty from her rich inner life.

I gaze at Jacqueline's paintings and muse on Linda's comments, and from deep inside comes..."WOW"!  One of my deepest "wows" goes to Linda's comment on p.22: "There is so much pain, suffering, and violence in the world.  For me, beauty is as a balm softening jagged edges of these times of sadness and suffering--providing some balance of healing."  Yes!  The "Healing Beauty" we all need, which you two are providing to your readers.  And even a novice eye like mine can tear up at the balance, symmetry, vividness--and a Mystery I can't find word to describe, probably really known only to painter-artist-cancer-survivor Jacqueline--in her paintings, voicing "LIFE" and "BEAUTY" and "ETERNAL HOPE" to our longing hearts.  Thank you, Linda and Jacqueline!"

"Jacqueline Allison’s vibrant collages sing beside Linda Doyle’s written reflections on the beauty. The words and art in this book invite readers to open their hearts to the beauty all around us—from the ocean’s majestic beauty to the fragile beauty of a crocheted cap to playful, loving, and simple ways we care for each other.  A lovely, gentle book."

About the Artist

Jacqueline Doyle Allison’s award-winning mixed media paintings are a celebration of her life and reflected wish to create a visual and interpersonal connection through her art. Insights, observations and personal life experience are visibly expressed in Jacqueline’s richly layered artworks.

Using a variety of techniques and multiple layers, Jacqueline uses an intuitive approach to her art by allowing each layer to speak to what comes next. Jacqueline creates with traditional artist mediums such as acrylic paint, India ink and oil pastel along with uncommon materials like fabric and thread to create a lush surface with a rich sense of depth. The artist’s bold color choices and graphic elements have their origins in her childhood upbringing in the southwestern United States. Jacqueline’s love of travel has brought new awareness and depth to her art; and nature, particularly the mountains, coastline and especially the change in seasons, provides abundant inspiration to the artist.

Jacqueline holds a degree in graphic design with a minor in fine art from Middle Tennessee State University near Nashville. She is represented by galleries around the country and has shown in solo and group exhibitions. Jacqueline’s work has received nationwide recognition and is continually sought out by collectors. Her studio is located in metro Atlanta.
