Marie Piu, Tandem CEO, will be delivering the keynote address at the Care Connect Mental Health Carers Forum on July 27 at Clocktower Centre Moonee Ponds.
There will be stalls for people to learn about services on offer. The theme of the day is Planting Seeds for Change. We look forward to seeing you there.
The next monthly meeting of members is on August 11 at the Tandem office. If you would like to join us at this meeting, email us a membership application before the date. We look forward to welcoming new members at the meeting.
SANE Carer Forum for June

Join our #TopicTuesday live chat as we're joined by Mel, a carer and peer support worker with HelpingMinds, who will talk about recovering as a family and building relationships with your loved one while they are unwell. is offering a range of regional workshops to assist the implementation of the Ice Training Package for Frontline Workers. The workshops will be held around the state throughout July, August and September. EACH Carer Support Group at Maroondah Recovery, which is open to carers from the Maroondah & Whitehorse areas. The group meets fortnightly on Wednesdays in the afternoon. LifeAssist Pathways for Carers Project offers carers of people with a disability or a mental health issue an opportunity to share walks in Maroondah and Yarra Ranges with other carers and to learn more about news, services and,support available to carers. The Maroondah Walk is held every second Tuesday of the month, commencing 9:30am, sttarting at the Torrente Cafe in Ringwood. The Yarra Ranges Walk is held every first Thursday of the month commencing 9:30am. It starts at the Mount Evelyn Community House. Eating Disorders Victoria - Support Groups
EDV Support Groups give people who are affected by an eating disorder the opportunity to draw upon the support, experience and skills of others facing similar issues.
Recovery Support Groups are held in Abbotsford, Camberwell, Dandenong, Footscray, Geelong, Lilydale, Mornington and Ringwood. Family and Friends Support Groups will be held in Abbotsford, Camberwell and Ringwood.
To book, you can either:
- Send an SMS with your first name, location and date of group to 0481 071 211 by 4.00 pm on the same day of the group, OR
- Contact the Helpline on 1300 550 236 Monday-Friday between 9.30 am and 5.00 pm.

2016 Mental Health Nursing Conference, Nurses Striving to Tackle Disparity in Health Care, will be held in Adelaide on 25–27 October.
It will look at how disparity in health care impacts on mental health consumers, carers and their families. The conference will offer opportunities for collaboration and partnership within the mental health and nursing sectors.
