Steven Collins. E., who's untimely passing has affected hundreds, was a Philadelphia radio host, broadcast executive, and community advocate. He believed that mentorship was at the cornerstone of one's personal and professional development as well as for the progression of the community.

E. Steven Collins was a living example of what it meant to be a friend, mentor and leader. IAM salutes E. IAM Connected: Silent No More Conference
On Saturday, September 14, 2013 African American and Latina women came together to raise awareness about Heart Disease and Stroke among the minority population. Among those attendees were Leigh Amber Small (Assistant Program Coordinator, City of Philadelphia) @leighambersmall and IAM mentor Alanna Gardner @agardnermft (Therapist, @philadelphiamft). Both of them are highly involved with this cause as Co-Chairs of Color Me Red, a multicultural initiative to get 18-30 year olds involved in heart health and stroke awareness.

As a survivor of a massive heart attack, @agardnermft was featured as a facilitator on the expert panel for the "Looking Good from the Inside Out" workshop held at the conference. This panel featured a wide array of women who are dedicated to a life of healthy living. They shared their stories, answered questions, and encouraged women to workout and make their health a priority. On top of this excellent panel, Keynote Speaker Dr. Robin L. Smith @DrRobinLSmith shared some great words of inspiration and stressed the importance of putting yourself first in all facets of your life (including your HEALTH).

Healthy living cannot be stressed enough. Becoming more aware about such initiatives can help to change and save the lives of many in our communities. Always remember: "Your HEALTH is your WEALTH!"

The Influencing Action Movement would like to give special recognition to IAM Girl Talk mentor Anjanee Ferguson!
Angie has been with IAM Girl Talk since its conception in 2011. She started as a High School Senior Blogger and after graduating from Central High School in 2012, Angie wanted to continue to give back through the IAM Girl Talk program as Mentor. She shares her experiences with young girls and guides them as they mature into young women.

Angie is now in her second year at St. John's University in New York City majoring in Advertising and despite her collegiate workload, she still finds time to be a virtual mentor with IAM Girl Talk and volunteer with various other community service projects. She is an honors student and has maintained a 3.89 GPA!

Angie's goal in life is simple, to cultivate and utilize her skills to gain success professionally, mentally, and spiritually. IAM Salutes Angie for her commitment to community service!
