Kenya and Ireland Eco-Schools team up to promote Climate Education!

FEE members, Kenya Organisation for Environmental Education and An Taisce are partnering to promote the Climate Ambassadors Exchange Programme. 

The initiative goal is to enhance exchange of knowledge and experiences around climate change but the impacts of these activites go far beyond the knowledge sharing.

Interview with Alicia Mateos Cardenas, PhD researcher from UCC Green Campus

Alicia Mateos Cardenas is a PhD researcher at the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences in University College Cork (UCC) and a member of UCC Green Campus (which is part of FEE EcoCampus programme). Alicia’s research is funded by the Environmental Protection Agency and looks at the impact of microplastics in the freshwater environment.

Getting inspired by Eco-Schools Teachers

 


Catarina Alves and Felipe Araya, as part of their MA in "Leadership for Sustainability" research at Malmö University, developed a thesis project to understand
how more connections and interactions among all the teachers engaged in Eco-Schools could support them.

  Green Flags wave strong in Jordan  


The Royal Marine conservation society of Jordan (JREDS) celebrated the award of 82 schools in Jordan within the International Eco-schools Program Certificate (Green Flag).
The largest share of schools awarded is based in the north of Jordan around the areas of Irbid, Mafraq, North Shouna and Ramtha with a total of 46 schools followed by Aqaba with 23 schools and 13 schools from Amman.
Way to go Jordan!
