Upcoming CTC Races & News


Remember always arrive 15 mins early to register for Aquathlons (and this applies to all Club racing or training events!).  Also remember to volunteer during the season. Complete the form at sign up!

We are back a Cabarita Swimming Centre for the month of January!  

Wednesday, 13 January - The Roundabout - Sponsored by  

A 300m swim followed by a 1.3k run then another 200m swim and one more go at a 1.3km run!  Easy!!  Run off those post Christmas kilos!  We like to ease back into the season! 

Wednesday, 20 January - The Reverse Killer - Sponsored by  

The Killer is such a fun event, that we do it again, with the distances increasing instead of decreasing.

100m swim / 800m run
200m swim / 1.6 km run
300m swim / 2.4 km run.

A great race for the junior members to participate in as all the running is within the bounds of Cabarita Park and the number of legs can be easily adjusted.

Wednesday, 27 January - The Punt - Sponsored by 

The Punt is 300m swim, 4 km run, 200m swim

The run to the Mortlake punt is into the setting sun, so bring your sunnies with you. An alternative turnaround at the flagstaff which gives a 3 km run.  A pool finish - because it annoys the timekeepers.
FYI:  Can we ask a favour!  Can you please ensure that when we are hosting an event that you 'join' the event so we have ideas of numbers of members attended where catering and other requirements are needed! If you do not want to receive any FB notifications please just adjust your FB settings. Thanks for your support!!



The Road

Check the calendar as new road rides have been added.  Postings will be up shortly on Face Book by our Ride Leaders!  New cycling rules have been recently announced by the NSW State Government!  Make sure you are conversant with them. 


The Swim


Stroke Correction Squad
Monday evenings - 6.00pm - 7.00pm - Drummoyne Swimming Centre - back on board 11 January.

Sarah Maguire will be at Drummoyne Pool from 6.00pm until 7.00pm on Monday for stroke correction lessons.  If you have swim aids (kick board, pull buoy etc) please bring them.  Note that pool entry fee is applicable at the gate.  Please keep an eye on FB or in the newsletter for updates.




Saturday 16 Canberra Triathlon Festival

Saturday 16 January & 13 February:  Gear Up Girl Park Bikes Maintenance Workshop.  Contact Gear Up Girl directly.

Sunday 17 January:
Kurnell Triathlon Race 2.  

Sunday 6 March:  Amy Gillett's Big Canberra Bike Ride.  

Sunday 6 March: Sparke Helmore Triathlon

Sunday 13 March:  Gear Up Girl:  three road bike events. Sign up to either 20km, 40km or 60km ride.  See Gear Up Girl website for registration and further information.

Ocean Swims:  The seasons for ocean swimming is up and running.

"Big Husky" Triathlon Festival 


The “Big Husky” Triathlon Festival has grown to become one of Australia’s most loved of the ‘Long Course’ events.  

Along with the Long Course Distance race, there is a packed Huskisson triathlon program that includes Sprint & Enticer distance triathlons, Ocean Swim, Fun Runs, MINIMAN kids’ triathlon and a massive Health & Lifestyle Expo.  Entry here!

Husky Long Course Festival - Club Accommodation

As part of our Club duties we have organised some magnificent club houses this year!  So stay with the Club and enjoy great company and delicious food with our traditional “Pasta Night” on Friday followed by a relaxing (well at least for those not doing long course!) BBQ on the Saturday night.
Again this year we have booked 3 houses in Vincentia, with one house designated as ‘The Long Course House’. This house can be booked for the Sunday night if we have a sufficient number of people wanting to take an extended long weekend! Please contact ​Gwen ​on ​ ​if you are interested in extending your stay.
Prices are:
$150 per adult
$375 Family package (2 adults and 2 children)
This includes 2 nights accommodation, breakfasts & dinners!
Arrive ​on ​Friday ​19th ​February ​and ​leave ​Sunday ​21st ​February.

So bring the family and get along!

Places are limited so get in early to avoid disappointment.  We will run a wait list if sold out.
