Gidget Ladies' lunch Friday 26 July, Doltone House

Thank you to the Gidget community — our 2013 Ladies' Lunch sold out in 10 days! 500 women and our Chairman Dr Vijay Roach. Since our inception, every major event has been oversubscribed, testimony to your passion, support and the talent of the inventive, vivacious Gidget girls on the Events Committee. The Gidget Foundation is very excited to announce our special guest for the 2013 ladies lunch at Doltone House Hyde Park. Mary Coustas, better known as Effie, the indomitable Greek goddess, will tell as about her personal journey of love and loss, captured in her recently released book ‘All I Know’. Only 12 more sleeps! So choose your frock, book the babysitter and get ready to lunch with the ladies at the Gidget Foundation 2013 Ladies' Lunch, Doltone House. See you there!
Catherine Knox, CEO Gidget Foundation

Profile: Mary Coustas

Mary Coustas is an actor, comedian and author. Anyone who has followed Mary's career in film and as the popular in-your-face TV and stage character Effie, may be shocked to learn of the trials she was going through at the time. The release of her memoir 'All I Know' has touched a national nerve. Her ability to speak of her own losses particularly the death of her daughter Stevie with such honesty is both heartbreaking and inspirational. Ultimately her story as challenging as it was, is an uplifting celebration of life.

All I know, is published by Allen & Unwin and is available through good book shops.

Barker Old Boys Rugby Club Ladies' Day

Saturday 20th July 2013
— Turramurra Oval

Please come along and support the players who will be supporting us!  Members of the Gidget Foundation will be there with their families.
The Gidget Foundation is proud to be the chosen charity partner for the Barker Old Boys Rugby Union Football Club's annual Ladies' Day!
During the day 5 games will be played against local rivals, Lindfield. Games start with 4th grade at 10.45am through to 1st grade which kicks off at 3.15pm
The Club commissions a one-off jersey design for our first grade team to wear during the main game of the event. (attached)  These jerseys are auctioned to players and supporters at the end of the event as a way to raise additional funds. Typically, bidding wars break out between the parents and sons for these jerseys.

An area on the sideline will be specially designated for ladies and their families.  Here they can enjoy the day’s festivities which include raffles, gift bags, complimentary food and champagne, and a market stall area.

Here is the Gidget Foundation's Chairman and CEO with the Barker Old Boys' club President, Jared McMahon, club secretary, Martin Donaldson, players, Scott Meletopoulo and Dave Forbes and supporter, Sam Figg, a member of the Australian 7s rugby team!
