Adelaide and IFI Join Forces to Transform the Lives and Spaces of the City
On September 26, the city of Adelaide adopted the IFI Interiors Declaration, joining the 123 progressive cities that have already signed this fundamental agreement. The Lord Mayor of Adelaide, Right Honourable Martin Haese officiated the ceremony, highlighting his city's commitment to improving life-quality and well-being of all citizens by promoting Interiors that facilitate and nurture human activity.
Championed by IFI member, the Design Institute of Australia (DIA) we are most appreciative of their huge effort and congratulate DIA President Julie Hobbs, and DIA member/former IFI Executive Board Member (2011-2014) Joanne Cys, for their meticulous coordination and vision.

Celebrates Its Biannual 2016 Conference
Adelaide, Australia
The adoption ceremony of Adelaide took place within a Civic Reception at the City Town Hall with the participants of the APSDA Australia 2016 Conference. This Conference and General Assembly of the Asia Pacific Space Designers Alliance (APSDA) was hosted by Design Institute of Australia (DIA) on 24 & 25 September.
This year's conference explored the theme of 'home'. Everyone has some kind of a relationship to home and what it means in terms of belonging, family, comfort, nurture, tradition, familiarity and gathering. This theme brought together the real and the ordinary from which, through design, the imaginative and the extraordinary transpires and resonates.
