As we enter into a new year, we enthusiastically look forward to broadened horizons, unprecedented possibilities and to welcoming a new era of expansion and transformation.
All of last year, as we at IFI pondered our 50th anniversary, we were very aware of the great foresight and vision demonstrated by our forefathers who founded IFI in 1963. By way of acknowledging and honoring their groundbreaking work, the current board and I have aspired for an equally great vision for IFI and our, by now, entirely global professional community.
We continue to maintain IFI’s focus on expanding internationally and across all levels of society, contributing to the Interior Architecture/ Design profession. This we do through the exchange and development of knowledge and experience in education, practice and fellowship. In addition, we have sought to provide more current, targeted and timely knowledge. We are proud to have coalesed a strong global community of passionate, dedicated professionals, as well as, having cultivated a greater public awareness of the role and impact of interiors on society.
Looking internal to IFI we are now in the process of assessing and revising our procedures, protocols and governance to provide an improved service. To this end, since April of 2013, we have been in discussion with our appointed Strategic Planning Committee – IFI SPC – to review and refine our current structure so that we may become more agile, responsive and appropriate for a 21st century global organization.
