NEW BOOKS!

A magical bowling spell with two hat-tricks? It's just circles, says Kayu...

How does the old croc Grinder N Grater get himself a set of 64 new teeth?

Anya meets a butter-being who shows her what makes every child special!

A high point!

It was a thrill to see Devika Cariapa receive the Bal Sahitya Puraskar for Excavating History, in our very own city. Getting India's highest honour for children's writing is something she truly deserves! Three cheers!

Proud of Priya!

15 years and 10 outstanding books with Tulika – from the super-favourite I'm So Sleepy in 2004 to Why the Elephant has Tiny Eyes in 2018, and bringing 2019 to a close with... Zakir! DHA DHIN NA, we say!

From acceptance to awards

A big thank you to the children's jury at the Peek A Book 2019 Awards for shortlisting this beautiful book in the 7 to 9 years category, and to Nikita for the heartfelt article about Guthli!

Event-full!

Peacock & Ostroo stopped by at the Bangalore Literary Festival, and Dungi danced at Crisp Cafe, Chennai. Lila's Loose Tooth found its first group of fans at Pikk a Book, Gurgaon!

Delhi – be there to meet our newest author Bharat Shekhar on 30 November and 1 December at Bookaroo with his tooth-ticklingly funny Crocodile Teeth!

Nirupama's dream!

It was a dream come true for the eighth graders at Samskaara Academy, Coimbatore, who skyped Nirupama Raghavan about their much loved non-detailed text – Parthiban's Dream. The interaction involved everything from homeschooling tales to love for anime, from Narasimha Pallavar to pizzas!

Story travel

Our books are going places! While TokaBox took My Gandhi Story to the Facebook office at Bellevue in Washington, USA, for Diwali, Goshtarang took A Kite called Korika and Mala's Silver Anklets to 8,000 children through 45 shows around Palghar district in Maharshtra.

On stage!

It's Mumbai and it's raining... performances! The storytellers at Secret Passages got Ari to roar for hundreds of children, and Ishara Puppet Theatre will perform Gone Grandmother on 1 December at NCPA.

#TulikaBookLove

Diwali came early at @BabyBookBabbles! "All week last week, we read this wonderful little book that is reminiscent of my own growing years. Hiding inside my mother’s sari, finding comfort in its folds, using it as a blanket to sleep with, was what my childhood was about."

From @mythaunty: "A wonderfully joyful book about kindness and sharing... I love the illustrations done by one of my favourites... Deepa Balsavar."
