FROM TRACEY
Having just delivered the 2nd Central West Choral Festival, it seems a good time to reflect on the value that community arts projects bring.  Participation in the arts contributes to social cohesion and brings economic value as well as artistic enrichment.  I may be a little biased being a choir conductor myself, but choral singing is particularly good in this respect; it is physically helpful, keeps the brain active, provides a collaborative experience, reduces loneliness and isolation – all this through using something that we all carry around with us, our voice.  This year’s event in Blayney was presented by Arts OutWest and is just one of the many projects that we deliver throughout the year for our communities.   We are already planning next year’s choral festival with hopes of growing it to include more choirs from a wider range of locations.  l  Congratulations to all those who contributed to making  this year’s event such a success.
