July 11th

It's nearly here, just over 5 weeks to go until the grand unveiling of AC at it's new venue!

We're really pleased with how well we've fitted in to the rooms at Electrowerkz, more info on that below.

And it'll be our 10th Birthday Party, AND an official Alt-Fest warm up party too!

I would definitely suggest getting your tickets early for this one...

PLUS: Alice Bizarre makeup stall (prices start at £5), usherettes with free sweets and condoms, walkabout performers, dancing cages, horror cinema, and more....

CAKE!

It's a birthday tradition at AC to give and receive birthday cakes!
If you want to bake us a cake and bring it to AC on July 11th, we will give you free entry.
All cakes will be given away for free to AC customers on the night.

The rules:
One cake = one free entry
One email application per person (ie. you can't mail to apply for you and your friends and your boyfriend, they all have to send their own mails)
It must be a decent size, no lone cupcake or muffin! (although batches of cupcakes are very acceptable)
If you arrive without a cake you will be charged the full entry price, so don't forget it!
There are 20 guestlist places to give away, on a first-come first-served basis

If your cake is free-from, it would be great to have a note or label to go with the cake, so the right people get to eat it!

email info@clubantichrist.com with subject 'cake' to apply!

We’ve heard on the grapevine that some people are worried about our venue move, and what it means for AC. Some people think that our prices should have dropped because we have a new home, and some people think that the club structure or vibe will change.

I’d like to explain what’s happening – right from the horses mouth!

First: money!

In 2012 we started using clubtickets.com to sell our tickets, they charge a booking fee, so we incorporated that into the ticket prices rather than sticking it on top  (ie. You pay the same as before, we pay the fee)

In Feb 2013, early birds went up by £1, standard couples tickets went up by £3, and the door price rose to £30 (to encourage advanced purchasing!) We still do plenty of Earlybird offers.

When we became VAT registered – we did not put our prices up, we took the hit ourselves.

So you see, we are trying to be fair with our prices.

People have been speculating on how much our past and present venues cost us, but really the main costs of AC are the bands, performers, DJs, staff, equipment hire and purchase, and things like the tea and coffee, condoms and sweets that we give away for free. Those things will not change regardless of venue!

Second: the club.

Moving venue is like changing clothes. You’re the same person inside, whether you dress in denim dungarees, a power suit or a latex catsuit. Same goes for AC. Moving to Elektrowerkz is just a change of clothes, the inside will remain the same.

We will have PFI (10 hours), Hellfire Room (8 hours), Chillout room (10 hours), Dungeon (8 hours) Theatre of Sin (4 hours), Hellhole (4 hours), couples room (8 hours). There will be bands and performers, usherettes with sweets, all our regular DJs, more props and décor than ever before, the dungeon will be larger, we’ll use the in-house ‘cinema’ area to show horror films, we’ll also use the in-house BBQ to replace the hot food stall. Free tea and coffee as usual in the chillout room at 3am.

We will not change AC to become like any of the many other clubs that use Elektrowerkz, same as we didn’t change it to become like the salsa or RnB events also held at Colosseum!

Just because Slimelight is held in this building does not mean that AC will become 'another Slimelight night'... TG and Voodoo Rocks are also held at Elektrowerkz, and they also are different to Slimelight, just as we will be.

So if you hear rumours or idle gossip, feel free to set them straight - because you now know the truth of the matter!

Alt-Fest Warm Up

As part of the Alt-Fest warm-up party, we will be giving away a pair of tickets with camping, as well as some merch (badges, wristbands, tote bags etc).

The DJs will also be playing tracks from lots of the bands playing Alt-Fest, and of course we have The Shanklin Freakshow in the Theatre of Sin!

Visit Alt-Fest.com to find out more about the festival!

And finally...

We have a shiny new website! It's still on clubantichrist.com but it's now responsive (so it should resize to suit your device/browser size). This also means the galleries will be updated after every event because we have a new fully functioning one!
All of the info has been updated to reflect our new venue, such as travel information and our Rooms run-down.
The event dates and specific 'next event' information is all there too, along with new forums.

Please do let us know if you spot any glitches, typo's, errors or omissions, so we can correct them.
