I forgot to remind you that we are open TODAY, Bank Holiday Monday, 10am-5pm. We have loose spring flowering bulbs in stock, red and white overwintering onion sets, a new batch of peat free herbs and peat free fruit/ornamental trees, in addition to lots of late flowering perennials, shrubs, houseplants and a top up of German houseplant pots.
Argh pots. Again. Apologies.
I've copied and pasted the paragraph below from a newsletter I sent in March this year. We are still desperately seeking pots...
'We need 2litre pots, for potting up bare root perennials and bulbs. They must be: 2litre capacity (have a look on the bottom of the pot), black, round, free from stickers/labels, in good condition, and clean. Sorry, I can't accept pots that I'm unable to reuse at Bud - please do not donate pots unless they fit the above description.'
Some of you have obliged and returned pots to us, but we need more! I know it's a pain sorting through them, and it'd be easier to dump 10 bin bags of assorted sizes, shapes and colours at my gate, but I really haven't got the resources to grade them, and take the ones I don't need to the tip (plus, I'd have to pay a commercial rate for doing so). We need about 2000 that fit the description above for bulb planting and bare root potting in autumn, so let me leave it with you. I think reuse is the way to go, at this moment in time, but I'd be interested to know what you think. Drop me a line.
