An Open Letter to the Volunteers and Program Participants

UBP started in 2005, when our original founders began salvaging trashed bicycles in the Trinity Vicinity neighborhood of Wilmington and helping children with bicycle repairs. A couple of relocations, additional staff/volunteers, and a lot of hard work later, we’re now located in the city’s historic police stables, recognized by the National Register of Historic Places.

We thank our dedicated Board of Directors, staff and volunteers for their tremendous work throughout these 10 years!

So, what now?

Urban Bike Project continues its mission of supporting Wilmington communities!

With the help of an exciting $15,000 grant from the Laffey-McHugh Foundation, we’re looking forward to growing our organization and the services we offer to the community with help from this grant!

We thank our customers and program participants, and urge you to follow us on our website, facebook and Twitter pages for updates and announcements!

Sincerely,

Urban Bike Project of Wilmington

Bruce Wayne

Thank you Bruce! Your effort makes a difference to UBP and the Wilmington Community!

UBP is close to Brandywine Park, and we recently had a kids ride through the trails, past the Zoo and the rose garden, and over the Brandywine River. Visit the trails in Brandywine Park and you will see why we love this area so much!

Recap of June
UBP kicked off the summer with fun! Not only did we acknowledge our 10 year anniversary, we also teamed up with Mala Galleria in Kennett Square for a bicycle drive. We thank everyone who donated, and Mala Galleria for hosting the event. UBP looks forward to holding more drives in the future!
