Letter from Jennifer Turner, Founder of the Louisville TimeBank
Dear Louisville TimeBank Members,
I have some exciting news to share with you. The Louisville TimeBank has grown larger and faster than I would have ever dreamt possible when I founded the TimeBank in January of 2012. This past spring there was a call put out to members for people to help with the TimeBank with its ever growing tasks. Several members stepped up to the challenge and have proved to be invaluable to making the TimeBank successful.
Along with day to day operations of running the TimeBank we started on what at the time seemed like the impossible task of creating an organizational structure for the TimeBank as well as deciding on a governance system.
Today it is my great pleasure to announce that we have appointed a founding board for the Louisville TimeBank. This first board is composed of people who have been working as coordinators, but in the future the board will be elected by the Louisville TimeBank membership.
We have in addition decided on a system of governance for the board and our new committees called Dynamic Governance. It is a consent-based decision making process that relies heavily on facilitation, and works from the standpoint that the whole group is smarter than the sum of its parts. It matches particularly well with TimeBanking. We have member Joan Pauly to thank for teaching us this process, as well as being our facilitator in creating our board and organizational structure. In the next few weeks, Committee chairs will be setting up meetings for their committees and we would love for you to get involved! There will be many opportunities and different types of jobs and projects that we need to make the TimeBank successful. You of course receive time credits for any work that you do for the TimeBank. WHERE: St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 2233 Woodbourne Avenue, Louisville, KY 40205
COST: $5 suggested donation at door

This event offers a unique opportunity to experience art from a diverse array of Louisville residents. Works from artists of all ages and walks of life will be inclusively honored and valued, with children exhibiting side by side with more seasoned artists. It will feature work from over 50 local artists and include paintings, sculpture, woodcarving, and much more. Sponsored by Local Art in the Highlands, which is run by members Kim Torres and Sandie Griffin.
There will be music by members Erin Fitzgerald, and Bill Spencer, entertaining commentary throughout the evening by Mia and Karl Seitz, wonderful appetizers and desserts created and served by many TB members as well as a by donation bar with wine, beer, and a TimeBank signature cocktail!
This is a wonderful event to support the TimeBank and we hope that you come, bring your friends and family, vote on your favorite art, and hopefully buy some as well!
Donations and Can you help with getting the word out?
We are looking for donations for a basket of TimeBankers talents, craft, food, personal care items, or gift certificates for your talents. Also needed are donations for the food we are planning to serve that night. Your garden overflowing and can't take any more zucchini? We will figure out how to use it!

We also are needing people to walk and put postcards on people's doors in the neighborhood around St. Andrew's this Sunday evening September 8, 5-7. This is expected in the neighborhood, and it helps bring a crowd. Have any time this Sunday? Pizza party after! Sign up HERE
