Welcome back for Term 2
It's show term at Spaghetti Circus and that's not all! The Super Mighty Boys and Super Mighty Girls are going on tour, the Troupe are gearing up for Splendour In The Grass, and we've adding another aerial class on Saturdays!
Term 2 runs for 10 weeks ending Saturday July 6
No circus on the Queen's birthday holiday: Monday June 10
Term 2 Circus Classes Timetable
The Annual Show is in week 9: June 28, 29 & 30.
The timetable will be released soon with details of which group is in which performance. Age-group classes will perform once over the weekend and the Mighty classes will generally perform each day.

Hey Everyone,
What's going on out the front of the Spaghetti shed?
The garden got dug up! This isn't just about improving the drainage around the front shed. It's also part of a grand plan that includes raised garden beds, an external window for the office and a picnic area out front.

Our lovely new silks means no zippers! Please remember that that any clothing with a zipper can damage circus equipment and is not appropriate for most circus classes. Winter is coming so tights and track pants are perfect. Training clothes don't need to be expensive but they have to be comfortable and safe!

Have you enrolled? The first couple of weeks back are always busy at the front desk. Please be patient and take the time to enrol online. We're always trying to streamline this process; your feedback and patience is appreciated. Thanks!
Enrol for Term 2

Circus Bonanza

Spaghetti Circus featured at the Brunswick Picture House over the Easter weekend. The all-ages Circus Bonanza on Good Friday saw our very own Aquila Porter from the PT as the Master of Ceremonies. He held the room and impressed with a range of skills including dancing and playing the drums. Aquila was joined by the wonderful 'Spaghetti Sisters’ - five of our senior PT members who performed two acts: balance and acrobatics.
A few talented former Spaghetti's were also involved: Bille Wilson-Coffey graced the stage all weekend, just back from six months performing in Berlin with Circa; Aleshanee Kelso current NICA student created the balance act and Charlie Gill worked magic on the lighting desk.

Holiday workshops

The shed was bursting at the seams with happy workshoppers over three days of circus fun. Thanks to Leonie, Jade, Mel, Luella, Anais, Ellen and Abby.

Crankfest at Evans Head

Lachie and Shamani took a small crew - Talizyn, Rosa, Anais, Nelle and Aquila - to perform at this community event.

Mullum Farmers’ Market

Thanks Mel, Ellen and Leonie who coordinated two awesome circus play-spaces at the Mullum Farmers' Markets in the school holidays! Big thanks also to our roving stilt performers Deryn, Marion, Chiara and Jamalia who performed on Good Friday.

Adelaide Juggling Convention

Tal and Yoav Shemesh travelled to this Juggling Convention and were able to hone their already impressive juggling skills.

The Super Mighty Schools' Tour is a rare and challenging opportunity for the Super Mighty Boys and Girls to collaborate on a show and perform to their peers at local primary schools.

This year the Supers will be travelling to Bangalow, Brunswick Heads, Cape Byron, Coorabell, Coraki, Carool, Durumbul & St John's primary schools.
Super Mighty Schools' Tour is Monday May 20 - Friday May 24

It's only a couple of weeks away! Coaches Christy, DJ, Corie and Lilyana are really impressed by the Supers' creativity this year. It's looking like a fun show.

One of the generous board members, David Brown is turning 70 years old this year. To celebrate this milestone, David is asking anyone who might have been considering giving him a gift, to instead donate the money or time they'd have spent to Spaghetti Circus' annual end of financial year fundraiser.

Aquila has been training at Spaghetti Circus for five years, since he was eight years old. His favourite performance so far was as part of the â€˜Murder on the Dancefloor’ act from the troupe's 2018 Mullum Music Festival show and the most inspiring show that he's seen was ‘A Simple Space’ by Gravity and Other Myths at the 2015 Mullum Circus Festival.
He says his best skills are when he's flying through the air: "tumbling, pitching and doing saults off teeterboard"

What keeps you coming to Spaghetti Aquila?
I have really great friends here, I enjoy improving and learning skills and I really enjoy performing. Circus has given me confidence.

Aquila recently hosted the Circus Bonanza cabaret at the Brunswick Heads Picture House and has aspirations to follow a career as a drummer. Aquila is part of Loose Content - a youth band featured at last year's Mullum Music Festival

Some of our Spaghettis have had the opportunity recently to collaborate on works with other performers at Circus Arts.
Two of our performance troupe members Talizyn and Rosa were invited last term to take part in stand-out acts as part of Circus Arts' end of term show. Rosa performed an incredible doubles trapeze routine with aerial coach Moira Campbell. The duo have been developing the act throughout Term 1 after teaching the aerial class together each Saturday at Spaghetti Circus.
Talizyn was asked to join Circus Arts' teeterboard routine after working alongside members of the Circus Arts teeter troupe in Lachie's Tuesday night teeterboard classes at Spaghetti Circus.
Other performers from the Spaghetti Circus family were Malaika from 12+ in the acrobatics; Deryn and Cecille in the Flying Trapeze show and Alex Frith was the MC.
