Changes to Postal Operations Manual for Modes of Delivery, Mail Receptacles, And Keys
On April 5, 2013 our District was notified of the following changes to Postal Operations Manual referenced above which will affect all existing and new construction projects in your area.
  • Centralized and Cluster Box Units (CBU’s) delivery is now the default mode of delivery in business areas. 
  • For new residential delivery, CBU is now the default.  Exceptions to permit curb line delivery must be approved by the District.
  • New deliveries within an existing block with an established mode of delivery no longer assume the existing mode of delivery.  We can require a more efficient mode of delivery.
  • While we do not control addresses for buildings, we do control the sequential ordering of addresses within any centralized delivery equipment.
  • If more than one building in a complex has the same street address, the delivery equipment must be grouped at a single location even if some of the units are in a different building.
  • Centralized delivery or CBU is the default option for delivery in mobile homes or trailer parks that are permanent residences.  Any exceptions to centralized or CBU delivery mode must be approved by the District.
  • Delivery equipment must conform to USPS standards for CBUs and high-rise delivery equipment, USPS STD 4C wall mounted mail receptacles.  Local offices do not have the authority to approve any other centralized delivery equipment.

Stormwater Pollution Prevention for Construction Sites Educational Session
(Fayetteville, NC)- On June 24, 2014 at 5:30 p.m., the City of Fayetteville Stormwater Division will be hosting a free educational session for people in the construction industry who are interested in learning more about how to keep stormwater pollution at a minimum at construction sites. The session will take place in the Cape Fear Conference room, located in the Engineering Department on the first floor of City Hall, 433 Hay Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301.
Erosion is one of the biggest concerns for stormwater pollution in North Carolina. During this session, participants will learn what best management practices are, and how they are beneficial to keeping our water quality safe for everyone.
This workshop is designed for anyone who works in the construction industry, and is interested in taking measures to help protect our water quality.
Attendees must RSVP to Shauna Haslem, Stormwater Educator by June 20, 2014 at 5 p.m.  Interested persons can call 910-433-1071 or email to confirm their reservation. Refreshments will be served.

However, dues payments may be deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses, subject to an exclusion for lobbying activity. Because a portion of your dues is used for lobbying by NAHB, NCHBA and Home Builders Association of Fayetteville, 8% of the total dues for Builder & Associate Members is NOT deductible for income tax purposes. For Affiliate Members, 1.8% of the total dues is NOT deductible for income tax purposes. Membership Dues are non-refundable.
