BMC is working hard to lower environmental and energy burdens for Central Brooklyn. For instance, we're supporting a legislative proposal to put a surcharge on the use of plastic bags. Also, in response to projections that Con Edison will not be able to meet the energy demands of a rapidly gentrifying Central Brooklyn, BMC has helped organize the Brooklyn Alliance for Sustainable Energy (BASE) and has announced a campaign to solarize Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights and the surrounding area.
If you are a homeowner and want to learn if you can affordably install solar panels on your roof, take this quick survey and get details on a May 19th campaign roll out event.
