BEGIN & STARS Holiday Party 2019

The BEGIN & STARS Holiday Party took place on Saturday, December 14. The day started when 13 BEGIN children and 32 of their adult family members arrived at the Center. The families had a chance to mingle and have fun doing crafts in our newly updated classrooms. It was soon time to gather for a holiday story under the green and purple decorated tree, which just happen to be the Center's colors! Of course, Santa was on hand to pose for pictures and deliver teddy bears and toy puppies to all the BEGIN children.

By noon, everyone was a little hungry, so the BEGIN families moved upstairs for lunch, where they found 22 STARS students, along with 27 of their adult family members. Everyone feasted on pizza, cheese, fruit and many kinds of delicious desserts. Lunch marked the end of the day for our smallest children, but the best was yet to come for the STARS students!

After lunch, STARS kids gathered around the tree where Santa handed out the gifts he personally selected for each child. Wrapping paper flew as the STARS kids excitedly unwrapped their presents.  There were beaming smiles on every face.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank the Volunteers, Mentors and our CVI work colleagues who graciously gave up a Saturday to help ensure that the party was a success. We also want to extend special thanks to two gentlemen: Jerry Moore III, who continued his 5 year tradition by donating gifts for the STARS students, and Lorenzo Powell, who delivered our party invitation to Santa and made sure he was able to attend (wink, wink).
