Dear <<First Name>>

Thank you to the people who have responded to my numerous requests to complete our new registration form.  We are still missing 125 forms which is making the administrative changes that we are bringing into place this term very difficult. PLEASE, PLEASE if you haven't yet returned a new form to us please do so as a matter of urgency.  Forms are available here. I will be at classes this week and try and remind the students. We are hoping to get our invoicing / billing automated and sent out via email by next term but I need all the information from everyone before I can transfer the database.Thank you.

Staff Sickness

I am due to have a minor (I hope) surgical procedure on Thursday 27th September to remove an impacted wisdom tooth. Miss Charmaine will be covering my classes that day. I am hoping to be OK to teach on Saturday 29th but I've been advised that this may not be the case. I will only cancel classes as a very last resort but please could you all check the website and facebook page on Saturday 29th September just in case I'm unwell and looking like a hamster.  Finger's crossed I'll be fine to at least be at classes even if other teachers are teaching under my guidance.

Thank you for your understanding.

Just a reminder that our uniform is compulsory for everyone. We have had a whole year now moving to our new uniform which is now available through the website.
  • We have a new Boys Section on the website
  • I have added some alternative Ballet Tights which are slightly thinner but a better price for the young children that keep growing. I have included transition ballet tights too which I would encourage so we can change to bare feet easily in class.
  • Coming soon - Pink Ballet Bags and selection of gifts suitable for Christmas. Check back to the website soon!

We are so excited to announce that planning is underway to offer some new classes and opportunities for our dance families from January 2019.

Further details and pricing will follow later this term but we will be offering the following:-

  • Toddler / Parent Dance for children from 18months with their carer

  • Musical Theatre Group

Aimed at our dancers who want to improve their singing and acting skills, alongside their dance classes and work towards small production showcases

  • Performance Squad

For children who would like more performance and competitive experiences

We are very aware that these new ventures will be popular with some of our dedicated students who attend multiple classes in dance already, so we will be offering a huge discount to those loyal students to enable them to attend and to meet their needs in an industry which is more and more looking for the 'whole package' or "triple threat" training.

As teachers we are beyond excited!!!

My aim in the next couple of years is to take a group to DISNEYLAND PARIS to perform!!!!

Please read as there is loads of news attached........

I hope you have all had a wonderful summer and we are really looking forward to seeing you all again this week.  Classes recommence MONDAY 3rd SEPTEMBER.

Examination Results
July 2018

Huge congratulations to all pupils who took examinations and medal tests last term. We had fantastic results across the disciplines.

RAD Ballet - 100% Merits and Distinctions
IDTA Tap - 100% Distinctions
IDTA Freestyle Jazz Medals - 100% Highly Commended and Honours

(The IDTA have recently changed some of the medals so when they arrive they might look different from previous years.  All details are here.)

We could not be more proud of each and every one of the children reaching their potential.

Just a word regarding examinations:-
We are Registered, Qualified Teachers of The Royal Academy of Dance and International Dance Teacher's Association. We have undergone extensive training and have to comply with vigorous Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in order to retain our Teaching Status. The examinations that your children take at this school are Regulated by the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in England. Further details can be found here for RAD and here for IDTA. The examinations also carry UCCAS points for university applications.

Please do not compare your children's results to unregistered, unqualified teachers who run their own unregulated examination sessions where they invite their friends / colleagues to act as an examiner! (As unbelievable as it may seem I've heard of this happening very close by.)

Summer School Success

We had an amazing "Greatest Showman" Summer School this year culminating with a fabulous show for parents at the end of the week. We will be confirming dates for next year's summer school very soon and we have had a request to make it an all DISNEY theme for 2019.

Details re. 2019 dates to follow very soon.

Both Miss Charmaine, Pixie and myself would like to say what a pleasure it was to spend the week with your children. They were an absolute delight and behaved impeccably. They were really great support to each other and made me very proud as the principal of the school seeing their friendships developing, into what I know for many will be a lifelong friendship.

Saturday 22nd December

12.00-12.30PM (LUNCH)
12.30-3.30PM (SESSION TW0)

Activities similar to summer school - dancing, singing and craft.
Ages 5-12 years (In groups)

£10 for a 3 hour session including craft to take home or £15 for both sessions and bring a packed lunch.

Places obviously will be limited and booking will open in October. Confirmation and details will follow soon.

Don't forget to check back to the Website and Facebook Page regularly to keep up to date. I would really appreciate it if you would like and share facebook posts to help spread the word too.

This is a great time to start new classes and we really do have something for everyone. I am so excited and looking forward to seeing everyone this week for another packed term of dance and events.

Kind regards
Miss Jo
