Iowa Partners In Efficiency Award-Application Process Now Open!

Making our government - city, county, state - more efficient through the implementation of Lean, impacts all of us positively.  Since 2010, the Iowa Partners in Efficiency award has recognized the efforts of Iowa government entities to improve their operational efficiency.  2013 marks a move of this award sponsorship to the Iowa Lean Consortium from the Iowa Business Council.

Are you from a government entity that is implementing Lean? If so, consider applying for the Iowa Partners in Efficiency award.  Applications will be received between now and June 15, 2013.  Do you know of Lean work happening in a government body?  If so, tell them about this chance to be recognized for their work!   A Nominee does not need to be an ILC member to be eligible for this award.  You can learn more here.

A Day of Learning with Art Byrne

Art ByrneThank you to Winnebago Staff and Jody East from North Iowa Community College for their help with organizing this month's ILC event with Art Byrne. Art shared lessons learned with over 120 lean practitioners from three states.

Art challenged those in attendance to not think about Lean as a set of tools but as a way of doing business.  He also encouraged people to stop spending their energy on figuring out why something is wrong and how to make it more accurate, but rather, spend time leveraging Lean and positioning the organization to respond quickly to changes in demand.

Thank you to those who attended this event!  ILC Members can download the handouts from this event in the Members' Area of the ILC website.
