Tis’ the season for gratitude and giving. As they say, it takes a village! As the year ends, I would like to express my most sincere gratitude and appreciation for all your efforts to continue to serve our community in 2021.

Village Wins Two Budget Awards

The Village has won not one, but two, awards from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its presentation of the FY2022 budget. This is the second year in a row in which the Village has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. A special shout out to the Finance Department staff who made both awards a reality. We look forward to building on this achievement in the upcoming fiscal year!

A Message from the Burr Ridge Police Department

In preparation for the holidays, The Burr Ridge Police Department would like to provide the following recommendations from the US Postal Services that residents and business owners can take to protect their mail/packages from theft:

Public Works Winter Pavement Safety Treatments

Our Public Works Department will deploy an advanced snow-fighting tactic again this Winter on Burr Ridge roadways. The Department will often spray a liquid brine solution before snowstorms onto main roads. Chemicals used in this application are safer for the environment than plain rock salt. We apply liquid brine to roads before a storm to help prevent ice on the pavement, making our plowing operation more efficient. We must keep salting roads, but our Public Works Department uses these emerging technologies to more effectively maintain our traveled ways each Winter season while reducing our reliance on rock salt and its effects on the environment.

Feeling Festive

 Thank you to the crew of the Public Works Forestry Division for once again so beautifully decorating County Line Road. We recognize it takes many hours, usually in the cold, to get that work done. An additional thank you to McFarlane Douglass for making Burr Ridge look so warm, welcoming, and festive.
