To the Burr Ridge Community,

The 2nd Annual Taste of Burr Ridge & Car Show kicked off the month of October and what a day it was. The Chicago Tribune noted the event as one of the most successful taste events since the pandemic, both in terms of turnout and restaurant participation. Thank you for showing your support to our local restaurants and for bringing your families out for this beautiful event. We are so grateful to our event sponsors, taste vendors, car show participants and volunteers for contributing to this enjoyable day.

Fall leaves cover the ground, Halloween is just around the corner and we are excited to see everyone out and about trick-or-treating! Reminder: the official trick-or-treating hours in Burr Ridge are 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 31st. Please use extra caution if you are driving on Halloween to ensure the safety of trick-or-treaters. If you do not want trick-or-treaters to visit your house, we encourage you to simply turn off your outside lights. Below, you will also find some helpful safety tips to keep in mind as you and your family prepare for the holiday.

Wishing you and your families a beautiful fall season and a Happy Halloween!

Sincerely,

Mayor Gary Grasso

Annual Brush Pickup on October 24th

It's that time of year! Annual Brush Pickup is scheduled for Monday, October 24th. Residents who have brush that is too large to be picked up by the normal landscape waste through Groot can place it beside the road. Brush will be collected with a grapple-claw mechanism and removed to a remote site for chipping. This process will allow the work to be performed quicker, quieter, and with less chipping debris on the street. Make sure to put branches in the parkway by no later than 7:00 a.m. on October 24th. Please visit the Village website to review the specific pickup requirements, as the Village cannot require the contractor to return to a site if it does not comply.

Make it a Safe Halloween

The Burr Ridge Police Department has provided the following recommendations for safer “trick-or-treating.” Please take just a few moments to read over the guidelines below and you can help prevent an accidental injury.
