Happy Fall! Thank you to everyone who came out to our Taste of Burr Ridge event and the Annual Car Show earlier this month. With nearly 1,000 tickets sold at the Taste, it was a highly successful inaugural event and a great way to show support for our local restaurants. The Car Show sold out with over 150 cars pre-registered. Thanks to our Car Show partners Windy City Corvettes and Corvette Mike Midwest for helping make this event so successful. We can't wait to bring back both events next year after the overwhelming feedback!

The leaves in the Village are changing and it is one of my favorite times of the year. As leaves start to fall, please remember: Brush Pick Up Start Date is Monday, October 25th. Make sure to put branches in the parkway by no later than 7:00 a.m. on the 25th. More details here

Halloween is nearly upon us. Do you have your costume? We are excited to see everyone out and about trick or treating on October 31st from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tag us in your photos with the hashtag #VBRHalloween so we can see your costumes and be entered to win a $25 gift card from a Burr Ridge business of your choice.

Have a great month and stay safe!

Make it a safe Halloween by following the guidelines recommended by the Burr Ridge Police Department. “Trick-or-Treating” is from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on October 31st. Homeowners are recommended to leave a front light on. Motorists are reminded to be alert to those participating in “trick-or-treating.”

Great work Preeti Goel and John Wernimont on securing a more convenient and safer way to pay utility bills. We now have a convenient drive-up payment drop box for our residents, located in front of the Village Hall, adjacent to the mailbox. Payments can be dropped off any time and will be processed the same day if made before 3:30 pm. Please only place checks or money orders in the drop box – do not place cash payments in the box. Thank you for being safety conscious, and enjoy our convenient new drop box!

Sidewalk Project
A sidewalk project that broke ground in 2019 on County Line Road between Plainfield Road and 60th Street resumed construction on Monday, September 27. This project fills a significant gap in our Village’s pathway network and leverages a $284,000 federal grant to complete. Occasional traffic delays can be expected in this area until late November.

Employee Spotlight: Richard Scherer
On Monday, September 27th, Richard Scherer was honored for his achievements as the American Public Works Association Chicago Metro Chapter Backhoe Competition Champion. Rich is an employee in the Public Works Department and has been with the Village of Burr Ridge since 2015. His strong leadership and technical skills lead to his promotion into the Operations division. Congratulations!
