 Learning democracy and #myEUstory - A civil society story
LLLP and ECAS are leading the European campaign for a “Learning Democracy”. Through a series of videos, the campaign prompts citizens to keep on learning about our democracy. 

 LLLWeek 2019 - Learning Democracy, Values and Participation
LLLP members landed in the European Parliament for the 9th LLLWeek! The LLLWeek was a  success, with 15 events and 12 MEPs involved. Read our summary and stay tuned for the report.

 LLLP Study on ‘Youngsters and the EU: Perceptions, Knowledge, and Expectations’
LLLP, together with JEF and OBESSU, ran a study on behalf of the European Economic and Social Committee to understand the role education plays in youth perception of the EU. Info.

 New European Commission - Education is back where it belongs
After hearing out stakeholders, the final title of the new Commissioner Mariya Gabriel will be "Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth". LLLP is happy to see education back in. 

 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) - Where are we with the Erasmus+ budget?
It is still unclear if the Erasmus+ budget will be doubled or tripled, but there is a concern about the cutting to the heading "Cohesion & Values", where the Erasmus+ is listed. Read more. 

 European Council adopts conclusions on lifelong learning for a green transition
The EU Council recognised the importance of a lifelong learning approach to serving a green transition in Europe. Read the text as adopted in the last EYCS meeting. 

 European Council resolution on the future of European Education Area
Ministers adopted a resolution on further developing the European Education Area. The resolution deals with the role of future-oriented education and training systems. Read it here

 EU elections 2019 - Final turnout numbers: youth is taking over
50.66% of electors chose their European representatives (+8.06% from 2014), while the youth segment registers the highest increase since 2014 (+14% for the under 25). Read all the stats.

 Council of Europe approves Paris Declaration: digital citizenship education for all
The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe approved unanimously the “Paris Declaration” that suggests guidelines for developing and promoting digital citizenship education.

 UNESCO High-Level Policy Forum 2019: Review of SDG 4
UNESCO reviewed SDG 4 to "ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all", but the reports are not encouraging. Learn more.
The contribution of civil society organisations to European democracy is invaluable. What have we been doing to foster common values and build democratic societies? A lot. 

 SOLIDAR’s citizenship and lifelong learning monitor
To strengthen democratic values, the European Union pledged to promote citizenship through education. SOLIDAR assessed the progress of citizenship and lifelong learning in Europe. 

 WOSM and AEGEE - My Europe, My Say
WOSM and AEGEE implemented a number of initiative to boost youth participation in Europe. Given the data of youth votes in the elections, great job! Read more about the project.
