Welcome Class of 2018

Faculty and Staff Serve Welcome Breakfast

The DPT class of 2018 began their first day of classes with a smoothie breakfast provided by Trine faculty and staff.  This welcoming tradition allows students to ease into the first day of classes and meet the second year students.  As the year kicks off we would like to wish our newest students the best of luck. We have full faith in your abilities!

White Coat Ceremony

The class of 2018 are all smiles after the completion of their White Coat Ceremony on September 4.
On September 4, 2015 Trine University's DPT Class of 2018 recited the Oath of the Physical Therapist and became part of the Physical Therapy community. The program began with a welcome from Dr. Earl Brooks, President of Trine University and Dr. Max Baumgartner, Dean of the School of Health Sciences. Many relatives and community members were in attendance to show their support of the students and the DPT program.

This year's guest speaker shared the positive impact that Physical Therapy has had on his life.  After a traumatic neck injury that caused a spinal cord injury, he has regained a significant amount of strength with the help of his therapists.  Two second year DPT students have been instrumental in his recovering by volunteering their time for his therapy sessions. The ceremony was a great success and the new students are excited to begin the journey into the PT profession.

Field Day

Student Leadership Implements a New Tradition

The DPT Class of 2017 decided to get competitive and challenge the new class to a battle of strength, agility, and many many laughs.  The two classes met at a local park to compete in events such as tug-o-war, balloon toss, three-legged races, and corn hole.  With several faculty members on site to keep score and referee, the second year team came away with a victory: winning Trine University DPT's Inaugural Field Day Competition 60 to 44.
