Dear Colleague,

As pupils across Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian continue to consider their choices for the next year, I am writing to update you on a number of areas which will be of interest to them at Edinburgh College.
2016/17 Course applications

Applications are currently being received for our 2016/17 courses and to date we have had over 2,000 applications from schools across the region. We still have places available so there’s still time to apply before the 29 April deadline at edinburghcollege.ac.uk/courses.

National 5s, Highers and part-time courses can be viewed on our website here and will be open for application on 4 April.

Tracking report
You will be aware that Edinburgh College guarantees all eligible school leavers who apply for a course will be given a place. School leaver applications will be tracked and schools will be notified of pupils who have submitted an application by email in a report this week.

ACE college courses help young people make the jump from school to college. The courses help to develop core skills, encourage confidence and enhance employability skills.

This event is being hosted by our current students from the Entry to Learning and Preparation for Employment courses and will give an insight into the course content through taster activities and demonstrations. Students and lecturers will be available to provide information on ACE courses as well as selling upcycled goods, home baking and raffle tickets. The event is open to school groups and individuals.

Please RSVP with your preferred time and numbers to
Mary Grundy: Mary.Grundy@edinburghcollege.ac.uk.
