Walter Cronkite is Dead opens September 30th and runs through October 16th. Joe Carlaco‘s revealing comedy revolves around Patty and Margaret—two strangers forced together for a long night in a public place. Polar-opposites politically and culturally, the pair can choose to sit in stony silence or open a bottle of wine and begin to talk…and listen. This insightful 90-minute play illustrates what might be possible if people from opposites sides of the political aisle stopped shouting and took one night to listen. “Walter Cronkite is Dead is truly a play for our time,” Williams said. “One that can really open up a dialogue for the audience.. Walter Cronkite is Dead stars Jill Dolan, who recently directed Ojai ACT’s production of Steel Magnolias, and Sindy McKay, an award-winning TV writer, playwright, and actress who was last seen at the Ojai ACT in Night Must Fall. Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m. For reservations call 805-640-8797 or preferably go to

JEFF SOJKA grew up sailing around the Channel islands, hiking in the sierra's, and surfing the central coast. Right out of high school he was awarded a scholarship to study in Germany, where he toured the great museums of Europe and started on his lifelong passion of art. At UC Santa Barbara, Sojka surfed nearly every day, intensifying his love affair with the relationship with light, water, sea, sand and shore, receiving a Bachelors of Art and earning a Masters degree from San Diego State University. After a short stint at an ad agency, Sojka decided he needed to be out in nature and to simply paint. He has been painting full time now for over a quarter of a century, displaying his work not only in Ojai, California, but also in galleries in Aspen, Colorado, Park City, Utah, and the islands of Hawaii. An astonishing array of collectors are enamored by his capacity to take iconic California landscapes and suffuse them with a lush luminosity that seems to glow from within. Artist reception, Saturday, October 8, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m
EILAM BYLE Wood Sculptor, Painter will be exhibiting in the showcases. “I think that my work  is very much influenced by the zen energy of this special valley, I have been using wood as a means of expressing my creative side for the last 35 years, but love to use glass, metal, canvas, and paint as well…and it all shows up in my work.”
