The Carbon Literacy Project: Climate Change learning for everyone.

Welcome! The latest news from The Carbon Literacy Project...

"Climate change does not respect borders; it does not respect who you are - rich and poor, small and big. Therefore, it is what we call 'global challenges,' which require global solidarity."
~ Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations

 World's First CLTOs!

In recent Carbon Literacy news, we now have three organisations with CLTO (Carbon Literacy Training Organisation) status – Keep Scotland Beautiful, Great Places Housing, and Museum Development North West. To achieve this status, they have had to demonstrate their commitment to promoting and achieving a low carbon culture through the design and delivery of multiple Carbon Literacy courses.

You can find out more about the CLTO journey of these organisations, as well as our CLTO accreditation here.

Call For Applications: CLO Awards 2019

We are excited to announce that our second Carbon Literacy Awards will be held in March 2019, coinciding with the Greater Manchester (GM) Green Summit. Engaging with Carbon Literacy and becoming a Carbon Literate Organisation (CLO) is a fantastic way for organisations to accelerate their climate-change action. Deadline for the next wave of Carbon Literate Organisation accreditations is 6 pm on Friday 8th February 2019.

 Leading a Carbon Neutral GM

November saw the completion of the 'Leading a Carbon Neutral Greater Manchester' events held at Great Places Housing. Three successful sessions delivered Carbon Literacy training primarily to senior leaders in the public sector, as well as some agenda-setters in the private and voluntary sectors.

The World's First CL Labs - Update

Carbon Literacy for Laboratories is the first course of its kind to be rolled out over the past month at the University of Manchester. The initiative delivered highly relevant, value-led climate change learning to lab staff and students, driving low-carbon choices and ways of thinking across campus.

 Carbon Literacy: Knowledge E-learning

Did you know that you can undertake a mini-module in the science behind Carbon Literacy? It can be used in conjunction with, or independent to, a full Carbon Literacy course. Completion of the e-learning provides a CL Knowledge certificate!

You can find out more about e-learning and sign-up here.

A UNIQUE PROJECT

The Carbon Literacy Project is a unique project, working with everyone who lives, works or studies, to offer a day's worth of training to the Carbon Literacy Standard. Once Carbon Literate, we have an instinctive understanding of the carbon impacts of our activities, are able to make informed choices, and, driven by the urgency, act positively to address climate change.
