Be entertained like Spanish royalty this weekend!

Dear <<First Name>>,

This note is super short! We just wanted to remind everyone about our program this weekend. Tickets are on sale for Fernando y Bárbara, which will take place Saturday, November 6 at 7:30pm in Austin and Sunday, November 7 at 3:00pm in San Antonio, with an informal pre-concert talk starting 30 minutes before each program.

We really would love to see you again – please join us! Click here for tickets for the Austin program, and here for the San Antonio program. Pay-as-you-can tickets are also available, at the door. The arts are for everyone, full stop. We never, ever want money to be the reason someone can't enjoy the collective cultural heritage that is the music we perform. Please help us spread the word about this ticketing option so that anyone who wishes to enjoy the music is able to..

Rehearsals are in progress and things are going great! We're so happy to be back together as a full orchestral ensemble for the first time in exactly two years, and we can't wait to see you all. Though this music is incredibly beautiful, it is also sadly little-known. Come spend an evening with ABO doing what we do best – playing exquisite yet rarely-performed music!

Don't forget to have a look at our Covid-related safety protocols (click to read) that we've developed in coordination with our venues. We're so excited to welcome you back to live early music – please join us! And thank you again for your support. There's no way we'd be the ensemble we are today without all of you on board.

Musically yours,

Billy Traylor – Artistic Director
Stephanie Noori – Concertmaster
Chelsee Sandaker – Ensemble Administrator
James Moran – President, Board of Directors

Ferdinand VI and Maria Bárbara de Braganza were Spain's greatest patrons of music. They employed an army of musicians at their palace in Aranjuez, including the famed castrato Farinelli and the brilliant keyboardist Domenico Scarlatti. This program will offer a glimpse into the musical life of the royal couple, with works by Scarlatti, Nebra, Seixas, Conforto, Boccherini, and others.
