Help us fund two programs in early 2022
on Giving Tuesday!

Dear <<First Name>>,

Where did 2021 go? We can't believe it's almost December, yet here we are! We had such a great time reconnecting with many of you in person in November for Fernando y Bárbara and are hopeful we can get together again soon.

We're celebrating Giving Tuesday on Tuesday, November 30th. We hope you'll help us out. The fundraiser is based on Facebook due to their 100% match of the first $2mil of donations, with a 10% match for the next $8mil. The match begins at 8am Central Time on the 30th. Click here to access the donation page on Facebook, or if you'd prefer to donate off of Facebook, click here for to access both our secure donation server and our snail mail address.

Roughly 70¢ of every dollar we earn goes directly to musicians. Won't you help us compensate our immensely talented musicians? We have two beautiful programs—one of French chamber music and another of Spanish and Portuguese choral music—planned for the first half of 2022 (dates TBA). The only way we can get this done is with your generous support which has sustained us through this recent difficult period. Everything we do is for you, our audience, and only possible because of you and your support.

A video version of Fernando y Bárbara, our November performance, is coming soon. If you attended in person, or if you purchased with the intent to watch, we promise it'll be released soon. Our artistic director is finishing up his final exams this week at UCLA, and as soon as he's done, the high-quality audio will be processed and dropped into the video. Once that process is complete, we'll upload the video to YouTube and let everyone know via both social media and this email list.

Musically yours,

Billy Traylor – Artistic Director
Stephanie Noori – Concertmaster
Chelsee Sandaker – Ensemble Administrator
James Moran – President, Board of Directors

What's New With ABO

Musique pour Coucher le Roi

Dates & Times TBA
Everything at Louis XIV's Versailles was elaborately choreographed. The royal day began with a complex dressing ceremony known as the lever, and closed with a slightly less regimented set of events known as the coucher. One ingredient of the coucher was music; we'll perform beautiful and elegant chamber music that may have been performed for Louis's bedtime, written by composers from the king's inner circle including Lully, Marais, Couperin, and more.

ABO is now on Spotify!

Over the past year we've been uploading some audio from our archives onto the streaming service Spotify. With an audience from around the globe, Spotify will allow us to reach listeners from not only Central and South Texas, but thousands of miles away! Music that was performed for the first time in centuries for you can now be heard by music-lovers everywhere. We're also on YouTube – check out our profile for videos of French, Latin American, and early Italian music!
